Session supporting Israel is tonight

YOUNGSTOWN — As a part of the National Week of Solidarity, the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is joining with communities to gather support for Israel.

The gathering begins at 5:45 p.m. tonight at the Jewish Community Center on Gypsy Lane.

It will feature prayers for peace and for anyone who’s lost a life due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Those in attendance will hear an updated briefing from sources in Jerusalem on developments in the conflict, as well as first-hand accounts from Mahoning Valley natives who either have relatives living in the southern Israel conflict zone, or live there themselves.

The Rev. Lewis Macklin, pastor at Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, will also speak. He recently returned from a national clergy mission to Israel.
