Parenting and social skills program planned in Warren

WARREN — For the second year, Homes For Kids, Valley Counseling Services Inc. and TCAP Head Start have teamed up to provide the Incredible Years parenting program and children’s social skills building program for children age 4 to 6 free to families in Trumbull County.

The program will be held starting Jan. 16 at TCAP, Warren West, 1230 Palymra Road S.W. To participate, call Joy at Homes For Kids by Friday at (330) 544-8005.

The Incredible Years Program is a 12-week, award winning program designed to decrease children’s disruptive behaviors, peer aggression and noncompliance with parents at home.

The goals are to increase children’s social skills, understanding of feelings, conflict management skills and school readiness. It is free because of a grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Trumbull LifeLines, the alcohol, drug addiction, and mental health services board for Trumbull County.
