Another flight added at airport

VIENNA — Allegiant Air, the Las Vegas-based airline providing flights between the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and Sanford International Airport in Florida, will offer a flight on Wednesdays starting June 10.

The airline will arrive at the local airport from Florida at 7:50 p.m. and depart again for Florida at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting June 10.

The airline has flights that arrive at 6:55 p.m. and leave at 7:35 Mondays and Fridays, said Steve Bowser, director of aviation at the local airport.

Bowser said adding flights shows that the airline is having success with its current offerings.

Bowser said he has talked to the airline about adding flights to Las Vegas, but the company isn’t inclined to do that, he said. So far, Allegiant offers Las Vegas flights only to communities closer to the West Coast, he said.
