Lowellville rallies past Leetonia 56-53
LEETONIA — Lowellville rallied in the final quarter to edge Leetonia, 56-53, in an Inter Tri-County League Tier Two game Monday night.
The Rockets outscored Leetonia 19-8 over the final eight minutes.
The Rockets (5-3, 4-0 ITCL) connected on three 3-point goals in the fourth quarter, two of them by Taylor Hvisdak. Jamie Hynes paced the Rockets with 14 points while Ashley Moore added 13.
Leetonia (4-5, 2-2) was led by Gina Jones with a game-high 18 points. Jones finished with four 3-point goals.
McDonald 68, Southern 47
MCDONALD — Joh’Vonnie Mosley had 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead McDonald (7-1, 4-0 ITCL). Lindsay Repp added 16 points and Joey Courtney 12 on four 3-point goals plus five assists to bolster McDonald. Maddy Dowling had 14 point while Hannah Kelm and Emily Smith added10 apiece to lead Southern (1-8, 1-3 ITCL).
Western Reserve 57, Jackson-Milton 24
BERLIN CENTER — The Blue Devils (3-6, 3-1 ITCL Tier 2) used a 21-9 second quarter spree to lead 36-11 at halftime. Hannah Mowery and Melissa Burky paced Western Reserve with 11 and 10 points respectively. Jessie Keeler pulled down 14 rebounds. Alyssa Chine led the winless Bluejays (0-9, 0-4) with 13 points.
Springfield 49, East Palestine 23
NEW MIDDLETOWN — The Tigers (4-5, 1-3) gave up only 17 points in the first three quarters in rolling to a 40-17 lead. Rachael Kennedy scored 21 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Andria Lyons added 11 points. Ashley Davis had five assists and Morgan Fagnano had four steals.
Crestview 65, Mineral Ridge 37
MINERAL RIDGE — Marissa Newbaus scored 21 points to lead Crestview (8-2, 3-1 ITCL). Chelsea Bowker added 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals to also pace the Rebels, while Shanelle Davner chipped in with 10 points. Abby Riffee had nine points for Mineral Ridge while Megan Ben added seven points and three steals.
Columbiana 42, South Range 29
COLUMBIANA — Kaylee Couchenour scored 14 points while Ashley Shea netted 13 for the Clippers (7-3, 3-1 ITCL). Katie Witmer scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. For the Raiders (6-4, 1-3), Alicia Withers scored nine points.
