Junior women's league plans to serve others

BOARDMAN — Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League has scheduled its first meeting of the year for 7 p.m. Monday at Glenellen Assisted Living.

Members are asked to take household items to be donated to Children Services and the Group Home. Plans will be made to serve food to the needy on Jan. 25 at St. John’s Soup Kitchen.

Assuming their duties as league officers for 2009 will be: Yvonne Ford, president; Denise Statler, president-elect; Marie Fryda and Nina Lowery, vice presidents; Paige Schantz, second vice president; Paula Geidner, treasurer; Margaret Cherol, assistant treasurer; Linda Crish, recording secretary; and Lynn Mickey, corresponding secretary.

Installed as new members during a candlelight ceremony in December were Sue Filipovich, Nancy Smith, Chantal McCafferty and Sue Calhoun.
