LIBERTY — A Hubbard man and woman are to appear in Girard Municipal Court today on drug-related charges.

Officers found three other individually wrapped amounts of heroin in the car. Crissman and Rosile are free on personal recognizance bonds.

Arrested after chase

WARREN — A 40-year-old First Street man has pleaded innocent to felony tampering with official business and drug charges after a foot chase Saturday night.

A Warren police officer responding at 10 p.m. to a disturbance at a Tod Avenue Northwest apartment walked toward a stairwell when he noticed a man inside the stairwell acting suspiciously. When the man saw the officer, he ran down the stairwell while pressing something against his thigh that could have been a handgun, the officer said.

The chase continued outside with the officer attempting to Taser the man. Soon after, the man lost his balance and fell down an embankment near the Mahoning River, causing him to break his arm.

The officer saw the man throw bags containing possible drugs during and after the chase, police said.

On Monday, Warren Municipal Court Judge Terry Ivanchak allowed Rodney F. Fletcher to be released on a personal recognizance bond. He returns to court at 3 p.m. Feb. 2 for a preliminary hearing.
