Bishop will speak at MLK recognition event
YOUNGSTOWN — Bishop George Murray of the Diocese of Youngstown will speak at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 16 on “Poverty Locally and Beyond” during a program in recognition of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The North Side Interfaith Partnership will sponsor the event at Congregation Rodef Sholom, 1119 Elm St. Other participants are First Unitarian Universalist Church, Richard Brown United Methodist Church, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, St. Columba Cathedral, St. Edward Church and Beatitude House.
There will be an ecumenical service at 5:30 and potluck dinner at 6.
Those attending are asked to take a main dish, salad, vegetable or dessert to share, about enough to feed 12 people. Please avoid foods with pork or shellfish. Participants also should make reservations by Monday with their respective organizations.
