Historical society will mark anniversary
HUBBARD — When Hubbard Historical Society meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, it will be observing its 25th anniversary.
During the evening, Cecilia Cooper will be installed as president of the organization, and Bill Mitchell will present a program on the history of the church. Discussed will be programs and activities for the coming season, and refreshments will be served. Guests are welcome.
Members of the society will be on hand Jan. 11 at The McBride House, 27 Hager St., to welcome visitors who care to browse, or to conduct tours of the home, where Christmas decorations are in place.
Evening of worship to be burn victim benefit
YOUNGSTOWN — East High School Auditorium, 474 Bennington Ave., will be the setting at 6 p.m. Jan. 10 for “A Song for Michelle,” a night of praise and worship.
Sponsored by Pastor Cecil Monroe, the Higher Learning Church, and the Michelle Love of North Carolina Donation Account, the event will be a collaboration of artists who are lending their voices and talents to bring hope and relief to Michelle Love, a native of Youngstown, who was burned over 60 percent of her body in a fire while cooking at her home in North Carolina.
Contributions to help cover her soaring medical bills will be accepted at the event. Contributions can also be donated to the Michelle Love account at the U.S. bank inside the Giant Eagle in Boardman, or mailed to the Giant Eagle at 1201 Doral Drive, Boardman, OH 44512.
