ACTORS

“Cinderella.” Salem Community Theater, 490 E. State St., Salem. (330) 332-9688. Auditions are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Interested third- through ninth-graders should be prepared to sing a song of their choice (bring sheet music). Performances are Feb. 13-21.

“Intimate Apparel.” Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron. (330) 836-2626. Open call auditions are 7 p.m. Monday. Those auditioning may prepare any monologue up to two minutes long. Scripts and audition scenes available at the playhouse. Performances will be Feb. 26-March 14.

“The Music Man.” Easy Street Productions studio, 865 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. (330) 743-8555. Easy Street Productions and Youngstown Symphony Society are holding auditions seeking singers and dancers 12 years and older for chorus, dancing and speaking roles Jan. 17. Auditions for dance, 2-3 p.m.; sing, 3-3:30 p.m.; dance/movement, 3-3:45 p.m.; read and sing, 3:45-5 p.m. Auditionees must come prepared to sing and dance and be available for rehearsals beginning Jan. 26. Auditionees not available Jan. 17 may call for an appointment. Performances are March 20-23.

MUSICIANS

Stambaugh Youth Concert Band. Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. (330) 747-5175. Auditions will be held in January and are open to students in the ninth through 12th grades. Please call for information.

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
