Instead of making resolutions, Dr. Brenda Wade, NBC Today Show’s family and relationship expert, says that to achieve your dreams and desires, follow these four steps.

Ask, “What is my biggest insight or lesson learned in 2008?” Write it down and then build on it.

Set intention. “What do I want to see manifest in my life in ’09?” Write it down in specific detail.

Ask, “What could stop me from creating my intentions for ’09?” Write the deterrents down and then destroy the paper. Create a mental picture of what you want and review it every night before you go to sleep. The last thought at night programs your subconscious mind.
