HUBBARD

Dec. 25

Breaking and entering: A Youngstown man discovered that a piece of rental property he owns in the 40 block of Brookline Drive had been broken into.

Dec. 27

Criminal mischief: Two juveniles walking on South Main Street told police someone in a vehicle tossed numerous cigarette lighters at them.

Dec. 28

Menacing: A Meadowland Drive woman reported receiving a Christmas card containing a threat.

Dec. 29

Theft: The driver of a Chevrolet Blazer left a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for gasoline.

Auto theft: Officers got a report about a stolen vehicle in the 50 block of Oak Knoll Drive.

Dec. 30

Fraud: A Hubbard woman found fraudulent charges made with her debit card.

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs at a Westview Avenue woman’s vehicle.

LIBERTY

Dec. 26

Domestic violence: A 52-year-old Louise Lane woman was charged after a family member alleged she slashed at him with a knife, cutting his left hand, during an argument.

Theft: A worker for Rental Corral, 1530 Gypsy Lane, reported that a 40-year-old Cleveland man rented but failed to return a $2,500, 15-inch electric polisher.

Theft: Someone entered Sorice Towing Inc., 1740 Tibbetts-Wick Road, and stole radios and other equipment from several cars.

Theft: A township group home resident reported the theft of two DVDs.

Assault: A woman told police her 12-year-old son was tackled and punched in the head at a bus stop near Lynn Drive.

Misuse of a credit card: A Warner Road woman reported placing two Internet orders totaling about $5, but finding her savings account had been debited for nearly $85.

Dec. 27

Criminal damaging: A Hadley Road woman discovered a rock was used to break a double-pane window.

Criminal damaging: Witnesses in the 3800 block of Belmont Avenue told police a 41-year-old Youngstown man struck a Dodge truck several times, damaging its front and rear. Three tires were slashed, both side mirrors were smashed and the windshield was cracked.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 42, was charged in the theft of a 1,000-channel scanner from Radio Shack, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Drug paraphernalia: A 44-year-old Youngstown man was pulled over in the 2500 block of Belmont Avenue and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, officers said, a suspected crack pipe was found. Also taken into custody was a Youngstown man, 49, on several traffic charges.

Dec. 28

Possible assault: Police went to Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, to talk to an Anderson-Morris Road woman who had been in a fight with her fiance and had a large laceration on her forehead. No charges were filed, however.

Burglary: A Scott Lane woman noticed her front door had been kicked in and a closet ransacked. A $2,000 coin collection was missing.

Dec. 29

Aggravated menacing: A woman told authorities an employee of a Belmont Avenue business raised a metal pipe above the head of a co-worker in a threatening manner.

Theft: A man, 31, and a woman, 34, both of Youngstown, faced charges of theft and criminal trespassing after three bags of clothing and a box of computer equipment were stolen from donation sheds belonging to Goodwill Industries Inc., 2707 Belmont Ave.

Dec. 30

Threats: A Trumbull Court woman reported that her 14-year-old son threatened her and another child.

Theft: A Tuttle Drive man accused a female friend of taking his $200 cell phone.

GIRARD

Dec. 29

Assaults: Officers responded to a fight between several juveniles near Broadway Avenue in which one boy said he had been punched in the head.

Assault: A Niles woman alleged her boyfriend, of Indiana Avenue, threw a glass of water in her face and struck the accuser in the head with the glass during an argument at his residence.

Dec. 30

Misuse of a credit card: A Dearborn Street man found out his missing automated-teller-machine card was used without consent to make two withdrawals totaling $300.

Theft by deception: A North Avenue woman told authorities a man called, claiming to be a relative being held in Canada, and asked her to wire $3,003. The woman went to a local business, where she was told it was a scam, a report said.

Identity fraud: A Girard man discovered his identity had been used to open an account with Dominion East Ohio Gas Co. on property he owns on East Wilson Avenue. He also received an $811 bill for an account he never opened, a report showed.

Weapon: Officers responded to a vehicle fire near Interstate 80 and arrested a Youngstown man, 32, a short time later upon learning he was wanted on a warrant from Liberty. He also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon when, police said, a loaded .357-caliber firearm was found in a bag of clothing.

Criminal mischief: An East Howard Street man noticed someone had used a key to damage the driver’s side and trunk of his 2007 Kia.
