HUBBARD

Feb. 20

Identity theft: Two Christian Avenue residents told authorities someone in Florida fraudulently took their personal information for employment purposes.

Theft: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard woman charging her with failure to appear in court to face two felony theft counts.

Feb. 21

Criminal damaging: A man left a North Main Street eatery and discovered vehicle damage, likely after someone had punched his fender.

Criminal damaging/assault: A West Liberty Street man accused his wife of damaging property and assaulting him.

Feb. 23

Menacing: A Mount Vernon, Ohio, man said a West Park Avenue woman filed a false police report claiming he had trespassed onto her property.

Feb. 24

Menacing: An official with Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported a threat had been made against a student.

Drugs: A woman reported seeing a drug transaction in the 1400 block of Stewart Avenue. Police said they located a 14-year-old boy they thought made the buy, though no charges had been filed at the time of the report.

LIBERTY

Feb. 20

Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to a 20-year-old Hubbard woman’s being charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after officers said a hypodermic needle and spoon for heroin use were found.

Forgery/stolen property: After responding to First Place Bank, 4682 Belmont Ave., regarding a woman in the drive-through trying to cash a stolen check, officers filed felony charges of receiving stolen property and forgery against the 49-year-old Hubbard woman. An elderly Vienna man discovered one of his checks had been written for $200 and signed without permission, a report said.

Drugs: A Poland woman, 22, was arrested after being pulled over near West Montrose Avenue and charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments when, officers said, a variety of drug-related items were found in her two purses.

Fraud: A Youngstown woman went to her Belmont Avenue bank and discovered that two unauthorized withdrawals from her checking account totaling $119 had been made.

Drugs: Police arrested an 18-year-old Liberty High School student at the school, 1 Leopard Way, on a warrant charging him with drug abuse.

Feb. 21

Arrest: Authorities responded to an unwanted person in the 400 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, where they took into custody a 24-year-old Youngstown woman on a disorderly-conduct charge. The man accused the woman of banging on his doors and windows and screaming obscenities, a report showed.

Theft: A woman left a Belmont Avenue store and realized a $300 cell phone was missing from her car.

Feb. 22

Theft: A Poland man reported a shoulder bag with personal papers and two bottles of insulin were taken from his car as he visited a family member in the 800 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Feb. 23

Theft: Authorities picked up a Youngstown man, 27, at the Mahoning County Jail on a felony warrant from the township charging him.

Arrest: Niles police held a 43-year-old Warren woman wanted by the township on a warrant.

Theft by deception: An Oriel-Rodgers Road woman told police she called a number she received via a text message and got a recording asking for her account information. The woman thought the message originated from a local company, a report said.

GIRARD

Feb. 23

Theft: A North Avenue woman noticed 120 Vicodin tablets missing.

Arrest: A 16-year-old Girard boy was arrested in the 600 block of Lawrence Avenue and charged with aggravated menacing, criminal trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon after a St. Clair Avenue woman alleged the intoxicated teen came to her residence and, during an argument, pointed a .45-caliber firearm and threatened to shoot her.

Theft: An East Howard Street man found that his vehicle had been ransacked and his wallet stolen.

Feb. 24

Attempted burglary: An Elruth Court man awoke and saw someone trying to enter his apartment through a window before the would-be burglar fled.

Feb. 25

Fraud: A Pawnee Court man reported the theft of his credit card and learned it had been used fraudulently after discovering a $2,500 balance.
