Richmond Heights 35, Maplewood 33 (OT)
ASHTABULA — Richmond Heights’ Jordyn Peck scored 10 points, including four in overtime, in a Division III tournament game at Lakeside High.
For the Rockets (15-6), Michelle Sloan scored 10 points and Melissa Sloan contributed eight.
Richmond Heights advanced to a district semifinal on March 5 against Gates Mills Gilmour.
Gates Mills Gilmour 74, LaBrae 45
ASHTABULA — Gilmour put nine players in the scoring column, led by Megan Schaefer with 17 points, to oust LaBrae in the Division III sectional at Lakeside.
Martha Ligas added 13 points and Jami Austin and Melanie Trushel had 11 each to aid Gilmour, which built a 40-26 halftime lead. Schaefer and Austin each had three 3-pointers.
Emily Potter scored 12 points for LaBrae (4-18), which made 9-for-9 from the foul line.
BOYS
Bloomfield 65, Lordstown 52
BLOOMFIELD — Aaron Knight registered 21 points, including three 3-point goals, and also had three assists to lead Bloomfield (6-1, 6-10 Northeastern Athletic Conference) in a regular season game. Kevin Hostetler added 15 points and 10 rebounds to also pace Bloomfield, while Dustin Kovilak had 11 and Matt Byler 10. Steve Cribley scored 15 points to lead Lordstown (5-15, 3-13), while Billy Wright added 14. Bloomfield opens Division IV tournament play on March 3 against Ashtabula Sts. John & Paul at Warren Harding. Lordstown will play Ledgemont on March 4 at Harding.
