YOUNGSTOWN — A man who pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in a collision last May 15, in which his passenger was killed, has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Humes A. Gregory Jr, 48, of East Lucius Avenue, drew the prison term Wednesday from Judge James C. Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Gregory’s passenger, Amir Fareed, 43, of Youngstown, died of injuries from the collision with a cement truck on Glenwood Avenue near Midlothian Boulevard.

Gregory was driving a car south on Glenwood and thought he could beat the northbound cement truck, and the crash occurred when he turned in front of it, police said.

City Prosecutor Jay Macejko said Gregory was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
