STAFF REPORT

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Linda Bolon (D-Columbiana) announced today that the State Controlling Board has approved $39,000 in funding for renovations of the East Liverpool Branch of Kent State University.

“The students and faculty at KSU-East Liverpool need and deserve facilities that will enable them to thrive in a 21st-century global economy,” Rep. Bolon said.

She added, “This money will enable the East Liverpool Branch to renovate offices and classrooms so that these students can learn in an environment that is technologically appropriate to these modern times.”

The money will allow the East Liverpool campus to contract with Braun and Steidl Architects Inc. of Akron for the design and renovation of approximately 7,500 square feet of the interior of the KSU-East Liverpool Classroom Building.

In addition to releasing this additional money, the Controlling Board consolidated $216,000 of funds previously released to KSU-East Liverpool for use on this renovation project.

This project is part of a master renovation and upgrade plan for the KSU-East Liverpool Campus.
