POLAND

Feb. 19

Breaking and entering: A storage shed was entered at a residence in the 8700 block of Woodland Road, and a lawn mower, leaf blower and minibike were taken, for a loss of $600.

Feb. 21

Theft: Someone forcibly entered vehicles parked on Parkway and Clovermeade drives. A purse, a global positioning system device and money were among the items stolen.

BOARDMAN

Feb. 18

Assault: A South Schenley Drive woman reported her son was assaulted on a school bus. The boy had a red mark near his left eye.

Theft: A Campbell woman told police five rings were removed from a vehicle and pawned after her husband reported having been in an accident near South Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window was smashed on Charles Avenue, resulting in a $150 damage estimate.

Theft: A Meadowood Circle man reported the theft of 30 compact discs, six gift cards, loose change and stamps from his car. The theft came to $530.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Carnation Coach Tours Inc., 5614 South Ave., via a side window. Missing were two computer towers and a monitor.

Drugs: Police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of Cook Avenue before charging a Youngstown man, 22, with drug abuse (heroin and marijuana), possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, and permitting drug abuse. A search of his truck turned up two small bags of suspected marijuana, a sedative pill and wax residue, possibly from OxyContin he had cooked and ingested, a report said.

Criminal damaging: A North Cadillac Drive woman found a vehicle window had been shattered.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle had its rear window smashed on Timothy Lane.

Domestic violence: A 25-year-old man was arrested at his Glenwood Avenue home, charged after a family member alleged he struck her in the face several times during an argument. She had several injuries.

Theft: A vehicle’s rear license plate was removed at Southern Park Mall.

Damage: A vehicle struck and damaged a machine, causing about $50,000 worth of damage, at Two Brothers Car Wash Inc., 7810 Southern Blvd.

Menacing: A worker for Southern Park Mall told police a woman came to her place of employment and threatened to harm her and get her terminated.

Burglary: Police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested a 25-year-old Youngstown woman at her home on a warrant from the township. Last month, a West Boulevard man reported his apartment had been entered and that several firearms and accessories were missing.

Theft/unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Westview Drive woman told police her former husband punched and kicked her, stole her purse and left in her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix without consent.

Feb. 19

Identity theft: An Aquadale Drive woman found out someone had used her identity to open a cell phone account after being informed she had an $1,190 outstanding balance.

Aggravated menacing: A Mill Creek Boulevard man reported receiving an e-mail in which his life was threatened.

Theft: A man in his 40s used a small metal hook tool to remove $2,596 worth of jewelry from a case at the J.C. Penney store in Southern Park Mall.

Vandalism: Someone cut locks on five occasions to a trash bin belonging to Bed, Bath & Beyond, 550 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Drug paraphernalia: A 24-year-old Berlin Center man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being pulled over near Mill Creek Boulevard. A suspected marijuana pipe was found, police said.

Theft: An Austintown woman, 21, surrendered to authorities on a theft charge after a former employee with Macy’s in Southern Park Mall had been accused of stealing an undisclosed amount of money from a register.

Theft: An 80-year-old Youngstown man was charged, accused of taking an $18 pack of razor blades from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Southern Boulevard resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Youngstown woman wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A New Waterford man at a McClurg Road business retuned to his car to find numerous items missing, including a radar detector, an MP3 player component and gift cards.

Feb. 20

Domestic violence: Police filed a charge on behalf of a Sunset Drive woman who alleged her boyfriend had grabbed and tossed her onto a couch before punching her several times. The report contained no information about the man.

Fraud: A Carter Circle man found four suspicious debits had been made to his checking account.

Misuse of a credit card: A New Wilmington, Pa., man reported having lost his debit/credit card while at a Windham Court business, and later finding four questionable transactions.

Assault: A 15-year-old Youngstown girl surrendered and was booked on an assault charge related to a May 2008 incident in which a girl at Southern Park Mall reported having been punched in the face and injured.

Burglary: A $300 exercise machine was stolen after someone pried open a sliding-glass side door and entered a vacant Carter Circle apartment.

Feb. 21

Theft: A $500 puppy was stolen from Petland, 7338 Market St.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle at Southern Park Mall was struck with pellets.

Theft: A man reported the theft of an MP3 player and a cell phone while at a McClurg Road business.

Theft: A temporary license plate was stolen off a vehicle at Southern Park Mall.

Feb. 22

Identity theft: A Rockdale Avenue man discovered his personal information had been used to open an account to a Web site.

Assault/damage: A Boardman man reported being assaulted and having his car damaged during an argument with another driver near Hitchcock and Garver roads. He complained of jaw pain and had swelling on the left side of his face.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 49, was charged in the theft of 12 cosmetics items from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A man discovered a $35 concrete ornament was missing from his front yard in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue.
