YOUNGSTOWN — Following their wedding on Oct. 18 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Christopher Marcum and his bride, the former Kate Rickert, accepted congratulations during a reception at the Butler Institute of American Art .
Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony as nuptial vows were exchanged by the daughter of David and Pamela Rickert of Boardman, and son of Victor and Mary Marcum of Jamestown, N.Y.
The bride wore a strapless silk organza gown embellished with Alen ßon lace and pleated silk satin details at the empire waist and hem, and the gently flared skirt flowed into a train.
Black gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Stacey Drozda and Amanda Williams, and the bridesmaids, Jennifer Lett; Jennifer Hoffman; Erica Marcum the groom’s sister; and Jessica Cosgrove, a cousin of the bride.
The duties of best man were performed by Ross Kurtz, and groomsmen were Aaron Funke and Josh Funke, cousins of the groom; John Horst; Christopher Dague; and the bride’s brothers, Kevin Rickert, Matt Rickert, and Jonathan Rickert.
The bride and groom graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada with doctor of pharmacy degrees. She is a pharmacist at Omnicare in Wadsworth, and he is a pharmacist at Zell Med Solutions in Akron.
Upon return from a honeymoon in Aruba, the Marcums live in Copley.
