Hot line to end Sunday

Hot line to end Sunday

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be discontinuing its (888) 2-OH-ROAD weather/road condition hot line starting March 1 due to the lengthy update process for dispatchers and the lack of use by the public. The discontinuance of this service will also result in cost savings.

Motorists are urged to instead use the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Web site www.BuckeyeTraffic.org, or call (877) 7PATROL or contact their local post directly to get updates on traffic/road conditions. A listing of contact information for each post is available at www.statepatrol.ohio.gov/counties.html.

Man escorted from center

YOUNGSTOWN — A 31-year-old Boardman man was escorted out of the Chevrolet Centre by police at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and issued a citation that charges him with disorderly conduct.

Police said they were alerted to Jonathan O. Drake of North Cadillac Drive by a security officer. Police described Drake as disruptive, loud and refusing to comply with a security officer who asked him to leave. Those seated around Drake complained about his aggressive behavior.

He slapped a security officer in the throat but the officer did not wish to press charges. He was given his citation and released to a friend.

Police investigate assaults

WARREN — Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of two teenage girls, one of whom said she was attacked inside Harding High School at 3 p.m. Friday.

A 15-year-old Warren girl told police she was sexually assaulted by two unidentified males, at least one of whom was a fellow student. The location inside the building was not included in a Warren police report.

The report says no weapon was used. The girl reported the assault Sunday morning, police said.

Lt. Gary Vingle of the Warren Police Department said no other information was being released.

Police also took a report late Sunday night from a Porter Street woman who reported that her 13-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted in a house across the street from her home at about 11:30 p.m.

Sgt. Jeff Cole said the girl went to the house, perhaps looking for a cigarette, was assaulted by a male and released.
