Girard boy faces misdemeanor charges
STAFF REPORT
GIRARD — A 16-year-old city boy will face misdemeanor charges of underage consumption, carrying a concealed weapon, criminal trespass and aggravated menacing after a woman told police he threatened her with a gun.
According to police reports, the 20-year-old St. Clair Street woman called police just after 1 a.m. Sunday, saying the drunken Highland Avenue boy had pulled a gun on her at her home, demanding to know where another individual lived.
The boy told the woman he was looking for the person because that person had killed the boy’s sister.
The woman said the boy pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, but she ran out of the house and called police.
Police followed footprints leading from the house to a driveway on Lawrence Avenue, where the boy was found in the passenger seat of a van, highly intoxicated and crying. Police found a knife in his pocket. The report did not say if a gun was found.
Police arrested the teen then released him to the custody of an aunt. Reports say the boy’s mother was too intoxicated to assume custody.
