BAZAARS

• Salem Memorial Building Association will host a spring bazaar with more than 50 tables of arts, crafts and baked goods from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 13 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14. Vendors can rent a table with chairs for $25 for both days (plus one donated item for a Chinese auction). For rental information, call (330) 332-5512. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 13 and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 14. Free vendor parking is available. Checks or money orders should be payable to Salem Memorial Building.

BINGO, CARD PARTIES

• Sacred Heart Church, 400 Lincoln Park Drive, Youngstown, has scheduled a Texas Hold’em poker tournament for March 28 at the church with registration beginning at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $100 for 3,300 chips. Pay in advance by March 14 and receive $300 in extra chips. The entry fee includes a home-cooked dinner at 3:30 and beverage. Games begin at 4:30. The event is compliant with Ohio laws, and there is a guaranteed 60 percent payout.

• A card and bingo party will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. March 22 at St. Mary Church, state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. Tickets are $5 each and are available only in advance; there will be no tickets at the door. Lunch and a chance for a variety of door prizes are included. • St. Stanislaus Church Infant of Prague Guild, 30 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a card and bingo party at 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4.

SALES

• Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ReStore carries a wide variety of furniture, including a large selection of couches and many large metal professional office desks; used building materials such as doors, windows, sinks, hardware and plumbing; lighting; home decor items; large and small appliances; electronics; toys; books and much more. All items are sold at low, discount prices. ReStore takes donations and sells to the public, all to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s home-building program. • Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.

SPECIAL EVENTS

• Girard Band Boosters will sponsor a pasta dinner and craft show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Girard High School, 31 Ward Ave. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 4 to 12 and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts will be available. In conjunction with the event, there will be concert performances by the band beginning at noon and continuing throughout the day. • Holy Family Home and School Alliance will host a reverse raffle March 21 at The Georgetown in Boardman. Each ticket is $75 and includes a raffle ticket, dinner and open bar. An additional dinner can be purchased for $25 with the purchase of a raffle ticket. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., dinner is at 7:30, and the raffle follows. The grand prize is $3,000. • OSU Master Gardeners has planned its fourth annual Springtime at the Garden 2009 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9 on the grounds of Trumbull County Agricultural and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland. Free garden programs will take place throughout the day. Area crafters, antique and collectible dealers, herbalists, garden art vendors and civic organizations are invited to participate. TRIPS

• Trumbull County Travel Club is inviting anyone over 18 to travel with the club on two one-day excursions in April. On April 15 there will be a trip to Ferrante’s Lakeview Inn in Greensburg, Pa., for a luncheon followed by a performance by Cahal Dunne. The outing will cost $79 per person. On April 29 the trip will be to the Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs, Pa., for lunch, a performance of “A Weekend Comedy” and tour of the inn. The cost is $58 per person.
