Massillon Jackson 67, Fitch 32

ALLIANCE — Rachael Rossell and Brittany Terrell led the Polar Bears (14-7) with 16 and 15 points, respectively. For the Falcons (6-15), Mariah Snowden scored 10 points at the Alliance High game.

Canton McKinley 85, Chaney 39

ALLIANCE — Ameryst Alston led the Bulldogs (19-2) with 20 points. Also scoring in double figures were Laneisha Lennon with 15, Syndnee Penn with 14 and Orlandrien Kirksey with 13. For the Cowgirls (9-10), Marcinde North scored 14 points.

Howland 49, Valley Forge 28

SOLON — Kelly Barzak led the undefeated Tigers with 15 points. Taylor Williams scored 10 points while Megan Long contributed six points and nine rebounds. Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Howland (21-0) will play Cleveland John Adams for the sectional title. For Parma Heights Valley Forge (6-15), Cathy Berringnoff scored 10 points.

Warren Harding 66, Maple Heights 50

SOLON — Jasmine Kirjland’s 15 points led the Raiders (17-4). Anita Brown netted 12 points while Aundrea Baldridge scored 11. Saturday at 1 p.m., the Raiders will play Brecksville Broadview Heights (16-4) at Solon High for the sectional title.

DIVISION II

Northwest 35, West Branch 30

MASSILLON — Dakotan Harkins’ 16 points and Candace Gemma’s 14 were too much for the Warriors at Massillon High. Michelle Sosnick led West Branch (13-8) with eight points and seven rebounds.

DIVISION III

Maplewood 53, Brookfield 36

ASHTABULA — Michelle Sloan led the Rockets (15-5) with 15 points at Lakeside High. Also scoring in double figures were Melissa Sloan and Ellie Engstron with 13 points apiece, and Britany Rumpie with 12. For the Warriors (11-10), Ashley Swezey scored 12 points and Paige wallace pulled down seven rebounds.

LaBrae 54, St. Martin dePorres 28

ASHTABULA — Emily Potter registered 15 points and had three assists while Dayle Boggs added 12 points to lead LaBrae. Courtney Aldridge contributed nine rebounds and four points to aid the Vikings (4-17), who advanced to a semifinal Wednesday at 7:30 against the Gilmour Academy-Hawken winner. Savannah Hogan had 13 points to lead St. Martin, which fell behind at the half, 23-11.

Rootstown 49, Girard 26

MINERAL RIDGE — Paige Berger scored 22 points, including five 3-point goals, to lead Rootstown in a first-round game of the girls Division III sectional tourament at the Mineral Ridge High gym. Julia Colecchi added 14 points for Rootstown. which made seven 3-point goals. Bryanna Jay had eight points to lead Girard (5-16).

Lisbon 42, Newton Falls 32

MINERAL RIDGE — Abbey Brammer scored 12 points and Megan Reynolds 10 to spark Lisbon (15-6), in a first-round game of the girls Div. III sectional tournament at Mineral Ridge High gym. Kelsey McGregor scored 18 points to lead Newton Falls (16-5).

DIVISION IV

Youngstown Christian 53, Mineral Ridge 47

HUBBARD — Caylin Hayes scored 24 points to lead the Eagles (7-14). Kristy Cooper netted 13. For Mineral ridge (2-19), Savanna Flesch scored 15 points and Brittany Bevilaqua had 12.

Bristol 62, Mathews 60 (OT)

HUBBARD — Alyssa Giesy scored 24 points while Eden Dulka had 14 for the Panthers (7-13). For the Mustangs (7-14), Lindsay Buckner poured in 25 points. Rachel Roscoe had 13 points and Kayla Manz netted 10.

Western Reserve 53, Southington 39

HUBBARD — Victoria Brown scored 22 points in lead the Blue Devils (14-7) to victory in a first-round sectional game. Colleen Kennehan added nine. Kaylynn Barco led the Wildcats (11-10) with nine points.
