Coon dog show, hunt

BESSEMER, Pa. — The Lawrence County Coon & Fox Hunters Association is having a U.K.C. event starting at 3 p.m. March 7.

A coon dog bench show will be followed by a night hunt at 7:30 p.m.

Turkey hunting seminar, amateur calling contest

ALLIANCE — The annual turkey hunting seminar/amateur calling contest will be March 7 at 2 p.m. at Mount Union Theater, 1745 S. Union Ave.

Guest speakers will be Shane Hendershot and Josh Grossenbacher, both of Zink Calls Inc. Hendershot is 2007 Grand National turkey calling champion and 2008 world champion. Grossenbacher is the 2008 Ohio State Open champion and the 2007 U.S. Open first runner-up.

The amateur calling contest will have divisions for men, women and youths. There is no entry fee. Admission is free.

Hidden Valley gun show

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. — Hidden Valley Sportsmen’s Club, 268 Gilkey Road, West Middlesex, Pa., will have a Gun & Sporting Goods Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 29.

Admission is $4 and free for children under 12 if accompanied by an adult. Each paid admission gets a free chance to win a Savage 93 rifle.

Sportsman’s show

NILES — The Sportsman’s Fishing & Hunting Super Show and Sale returns to the Eastwood Expo Center in Niles, behind the Eastwood Mall off Route 46.

The show is noon to 8 p.m. March 6, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 7 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8.

Admission is $5 and free for children under 12.

The first 100 kids accompanied by an adult Saturday and Sunday receive a free rod.

The show offers bargains on everything for fishing, hunting and camping enthusiasts. More than 150 exhibitors will bring in specially purchased name-brand merchandise at low prices.

Live animals will also be at the show as well as boating accessories, electronics and more.

The Family Pride Bluegrass Country Band will perform both days.
