PFS has annual meeting at Calvary Baptist


BOARDMAN — Protestant Family Service had its annual dinner and meeting Feb. 16 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road. Chuck Rudge, board chair, thanked the board for its service during the past year. Pastors, volunteers and staff were recognized for their past, present and continued commitment to the ministry of PFS.

During the business portion of the evening, the 2009 proposed budget was approved, and the Rev. Burl Jernigal of Calvary Baptist installed the 2009 board of trustees and committee members. The new committee member is Emma Jones.

Entertainment was provided by Carol Starre-Kmiecik, who portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

PFS is a nonprofit agency that provides monetary assistance with utilities, rent and life-sustaining medications and has an on-site food pantry. PFS receives donations from churches, church groups, individuals, organizations and grants to operate its mission to our community.
