Woman repeatedly rammed man's car, witnesses say

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who witnesses said used her van to chase and repeatedly ram a car is due in municipal court today.

An ambulance crew told police they witnessed a 1992 Dodge Ram van chasing and ramming a 1995 Oldsmobile late Wednesday night on the South Side.

The van, driven by Lisa D. Robinson, 34, of Tampa Avenue rammed the car three or four times as it approached the intersection of West Princeton Avenue and Hillman Street around 10 p.m., police said. The chase continued through the intersection, where one of the vehicles struck a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling north on Hillman.

The driver of the Mercury said it happened so fast he’s not sure which vehicle struck his. From there, the Oldsmobile, driven by a 24-year-old West Princeton Avenue man, turned around and headed east on Princeton while Robinson turned onto Laclede Avenue and went around the block.

The witnesses then saw the van speed up as it traveled west on Princeton, almost hitting the ambulance. The Oldsmobile driver pulled into a yard in the 100 block of West Princeton, and Robinson followed, again ramming her van into his car five or six times, police said. The man, his head bleeding, fled the scene, a witness told police.

Robinson, after being handcuffed and put in a cruiser, kicked violently at the rear window, police said. Officers used pepper spray after warning her to stop.

Reports don’t show a motive for Robinson’s alleged actions.

Robinson was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment of minor injuries and then taken to jail, charged with felonious assault. She was expected to be arraigned today in municipal court.

The van and car were towed from the scene and held for detectives.
