Pennsylvania State Police investigating Lawrence Co. homicide

NEW BEAVER, Pa. — State police in New Castle say they are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman as a homicide.

The woman was found at 10 a.m. today at a home at 1146 Wampum New Galilee Road, police said. They did not release her name.

A 4-year-old child alerted workers who were trimming trees in the area, and they called for help, police said.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop D Butler Major Case Team has been activated, police said.

Police would like anyone who saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area between Thursday evening and Friday morning to call them at (724) 598-2211.
