YOUNGSTOWN — Laniece McRae, a 6-foot sophomore, sank a 3-point goal at the buzzer to lift Chaney past Cardinal Mooney in a Steel Valley Conference game. McRae finished with nine points and 12 rebounds while DeDe Dunne had 10 rebounds to lead Chaney (9-9, 2-3 SVC). Also for the Cowgirls, Alyssa Sykes scored 14 points and Whitli Sanders added 10. Katie Hughes scored 15 points to pace Mooney (9-11, 2-3) while Elena Mangino added 10.
East 58, Warren JFK 42
WARREN — Briana Dawson scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Panthers (10-7, 4-0 SVC). Chelsea Bennett and Bernice Cintron added 11 points apiece, while Monet Oliver tacked on 10 for East. Sophomore Paige Klaric scored 23 points for JFK (9-11, 0-5).
McDonald 60, Mineral Ridge 45
MINERAL RIDGE — The Blue Devils (14-6) rolled to a 46-33 lead by the end of the third quarter. Joh’Vonnie Mosley scored 22 points, while Callie Garland and Lindsay Repp added 14 and 13 apiece. Savanna Flesch paced the Rams (2-18) with 13 points. Brit Bevilaqua finished with 11.
Lisbon 60, Sebring 28
SEBRING — The Blue Devils (14-6) jumped out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter and they were ahead 33-15 at the intermission. Megan Reynolds scored 19 points and Mindy Jackson added 10. Maggie Householder led the Trojans (9-11) with 12 points.
Columbiana 51, East Palestine 32
COLUMBIANA — Katie Witmer tossed in 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Columbiana (12-8, 8-6 AAC Tier One) rolled past East Palestine. Ashley Shea added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers. Bree Hall led East Palestine (3-16, 1-13) with 15 points.
Strasburg 52, Wellsville 34
URICHSVILLE — The Tigers (8-12) were eliminated in a Division IV sectional tournament game. No other details were reported.
