GIRARD

Feb. 15

Menacing: A Townsend Avenue man reported someone in a burgundy four-door vehicle pulled into his driveway and watched his residence.

Burglary: An Iowa Avenue man found that a rear door had been forced open. Stolen was a .38-caliber firearm, an Xbox 360 game system, 15 Xbox games and 20 DVDs.

Feb. 16

Criminal mischief: A Beechwood Drive man reported that eggs had been thrown on his two vehicles.

Feb. 17

Menacing: Officers responded to the 500 block of St. Clair Avenue regarding a possible break-in, where a woman said her former boyfriend had sent a series of threatening text and voice messages.

Theft: An East Main Street man reported a computer and printer missing from the basement of his apartment building.

Feb. 18

Criminal mischief: A charge was pending against a 26-year-old Girard man in a holding cell awaiting transport to the Mahoning County Jail who police said wrote on a door, causing minor damage.

LIBERTY

Feb. 13

Breaking and entering: A man reported an electric guitar missing after someone broke into a Belmont Avenue storage facility.

Theft: A Church Hill Road woman told police she ordered an $80 wristwatch online but never received the item, though the post office said the package had been delivered.

Breaking and entering: Someone apparently cut part of a chain-link fence and broke into Barkett’s Self Storage, 6436 Belmont Ave. A customer reported his and several other vehicles had been damaged or entered, and that numerous storage units had their locks cut.

Drugs: Charges were pending against three Liberty High School students after an official with the school, 1 Leopard Way, said the three admitted being under the influence of marijuana while in a nearby parking lot. One student handed another school official a small bag of suspected marijuana, a report showed.

Feb. 14

Criminal damaging: A worker for Church Hill Park reported seeing several deep ruts in a portion of grass, as well as a sign on the ground.

Counterfeit: An employee with Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., told police a man tried to pay for a money order with what appeared to be a fake $50 bill.

Criminal damaging: A Warner Road man found that a double-pane window had been damaged, possibly with a BB or pellet.

Menacing: A Warren man reported two people in a vehicle threatened to harm him as he drove on Tibbets-Wick Road.

Feb. 15

Drugs: A 45-year-old Niles woman was pulled over on Belmont Avenue and charged with possession of dangerous drugs. The woman had several orange pills she admitted having gotten from a friend, though there was no prescription, a report said.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 34-year-old Youngstown man near state Route 11 who was wanted on a warrant from the township.

Criminal damaging: A North Gate Road woman said another woman kicked and broke a door panel.

Criminal damaging: A Catherine Street woman alleged her former husband punched a bedroom door and damaged a hinge on a screen door when she asked him to leave.

Drugs: After responding to a vacant Naylor-Lloyd Road apartment complex, authorities charged two Girard males, 16 and 19, and a 16-year-old Youngstown boy with criminal trespassing, as well as the boys with drug abuse after saying a suspicious green substance and a suspected marijuana pipe were found. The man also was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Feb. 16

Aggravated menacing: A Holly Drive man reported a series of threatening phone calls, on one of which police said they heard someone simulating clicking a firearm.

Theft: Someone stole a $200 DVD player from Radio Shack, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Hadley Avenue led to a drug-abuse charge against a 17-year-old Youngstown boy, who police said handed over two suspected marijuana cigars he had just bought.

Feb. 17

Drugs: A Youngstown man, 22, was taken into custody during a traffic stop near Fifth Avenue when a vehicle search turned up a small bag of suspected marijuana. He was charged with drug abuse.

Theft: Someone fled from Aldi Foods, 3497 Belmont Ave., without paying for three bags of groceries.

Feb. 18

Criminal damaging: A manager of a Belmont Avenue business reported a former employee threatened him and his family after being terminated.

HUBBARD

Feb. 13

Possible scam: A Hubbard woman reported having received a call from someone claiming to be from a Social Security office wanting to send another person to her residence.

Feb. 14

Theft: A Viola Avenue man reported property missing from his car.

Theft: A compact-disc player was removed from a vehicle belonging to a student at Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave.

Feb. 15

Menacing: A worker for a North Main Street fast-food restaurant reported getting threats.

Theft: The driver of a 2005 Pontiac failed to pay for gasoline before leaving Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

Bad check: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant charging a township woman with passing a bad check.

Feb. 16

Criminal trespassing: A charge was pending against a man after a West Park Avenue woman said the man was at her home, despite having been warned by police to stay away.

Feb. 17

Bad check: A worker with Seven Seventeen Credit Union, 627 W. Liberty St., reported a customer tried to cancel a counterfeit check.
