The youth group at Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, is sponsoring or involved in fundraisers to help defray the cost of attending the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Youth Gathering, Jesus Justice and Jazz, planned July 22-26 in New Orleans. Among projects:

Pizza: A pizza fundraiser from noon to 9 p.m. March 1 at Westgate Pizza, Glenwood Avenue and Western Reserve Road, Boardman.

Pies: A pie sale is ongoing until March 2. Ten-inch pies in such flavors as apple, cherry and pecan are available for $8 and 9-inch no-sugar apple and cherry pies for $8. Very berry is available for $9. (Rick Hungerford, youth director, said this is best-seller ... with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.)

Candy: A Gorant candy bar sale also is on the list.

Car and bike show: The third annual car and bike show is planned July 11 at the church. Proceeds benefit a church project and are earmarked for the youth trip.
