Gunfire damages house

YOUNGSTOWN — Gunfire in the 2000 block of Volney Road on the South Side damaged vinyl siding on a house and a vinyl fence in the yard, police said. Burglar leaves shoe print

YOUNGSTOWN — A shoe print found on a rear door that had been kicked in at a house in the 1600 block of Steel Street on the West Side matches “perfectly” a shoe print made last week in a similar burglary on the street, police said. A neighbor who called police Tuesday afternoon reported seeing four men flee through rear yards.

Police said no entry was gained to the house because a refrigerator was blocking the door on the inside. A crime lab technician processed the scene. Police questioned a man in a purple hoodie walking on Steel Street who fit the description of one of the four suspects, but his shoe print did not match the print on the door, reports show.
