YOUNGSTOWN — Interstate 680 northbound between South Avenue and state Route 193 had various lane restrictions until 3 p.m. Tuesday while Ohio Department of Transportation crews patched potholes. If the weather permits, daily patching will occur at various locations on I-680 throughout the remainder of the week.

Man pleads innocent

WARREN — Alvin P. Traylor, 41, of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, pleaded innocent to robbery and resisting-arrest charges filed in connection with the robbery of the B.P. gas station at 1290 East Market Street.

Police said a man, believed to be Traylor, walked into the station at the corner of Laird Northeast and East Market about 5:50 a.m. Monday, said he had a gun and demanded money. He escaped with cash, but a gun was never found.

The robber fled in a sport utility vehicle, which was later spotted on Niles Road Southeast. He was apprehended in the 1700 block of Brier Street Southeast after a lengthy foot chase, police said.

Judge Thomas Gysegem of Warren Municipal Court set bond Tuesday at $25,000 and set a preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24.

If convicted of robbery, a felony, he could get up to eight years in prison. Resisting arrest is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail.

House damaged by fire

YOUNGSTOWN — Extinguishing the fire at 2040 Felicia Ave. on the North Side was hampered by holes burned in the first floor and in the second-floor stairs, which burned away and fell on basement stairs, the fire department said. The cause of Monday’s fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $37,000.

Cleanup at cemetery

COITSVILLE — The annual cleanup at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Villa Marie Road, will take place March 16. All Christmas decorations will be removed at this time. Anyone wishing to recover their decorations must do so before that date. For any other questions, call (330) 536-8573.

Food bank receives fruit

YOUNGSTOWN — Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley received approximately 30,000 pounds of fresh fruit from Harry and David. The donation includes pears, oranges and gourmet gift baskets made up of fruit, nuts, cheese and candies.

The Food Bank will distribute 9,000 pounds of this donation at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at The Concern, 125 West Ohio Avenue Sebring. “We are extremely grateful to Harry and David for this generous donation,” said Rebecca Martinez, director of Resource Development. “Fresh produce is essential to proper nutrition and is often cost prohibitive for struggling families.”

Second Harvest Food Bank provides food to 155 hunger relief organizations in the tri-county area. Those organizations include church pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and shelters for battered women.

Tractor club to meet

WARREN — The Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ali Baba Grotto, Perkins-Jones Road, Bazetta Township.

The first event of the year will be Plow Day and a picnic at the Tricker Farm in Kinsman on April 18. Next will be the 11th annual Spring Gas-Up at Tractor Supply, Elm Road, Warren, on May 2.
