Gunfire damages South Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — Gunfire in the 2000 block of Volney Road on the South Side damaged vinyl siding on a house and a vinyl fence in the yard, police said. The homeowner heard the gunfire Monday evening but didn’t discover the bullet holes until Tuesday afternoon. The man said he doesn’t know why anyone would shoot at his home. Reports don’t list how many holes were found. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
