Campbell police chase, nab suspected car thieves


CAMPBELL — Two Youngstown brothers, ages 16 and 17, were arrested by Campbell police after a car and foot chase, and are in custody at the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.

At about 7:45 a.m. Monday, police saw a car reported stolen at Pin Oak Drive and Gertrude Avenue containing two occupants. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car did not stop and turned onto Robinson Road and went across Struthers-Liberty Road. When the driver tried to turn onto Fifteenth Street, he lost control and slammed into a brick wall. The pair then tried to run away, but were caught after a short chase. Both suspects is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Additionally, the driver is charged with failure to comply with a police order and driving without a license, and the passenger with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business.
