Austintown man carjacked on the East Side

YOUNGSTOWN — A 32-year-old Austintown man who drove to a house in the 400 block of Woodside Avenue on the East Side to pick up a friend got robbed and had his vehicle carjacked by two men in ski masks, one of whom had a gun, police said. The victim said the suspects approached Tuesday afternoon and the one with the gun pounded on the driver’s side window trying to break it. The gunman then opened the door and took cash from the victim’s pockets. The second suspect opened the passenger side door and started looking through the glove box. The victim was then told to get out and lay on the driveway and the suspects drove off in the 1998 Chevrolet Lumina.
