St. Patrick’s Day parade | March 15

The 31st annual Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade is looking for entries for the event that steps off at 1 p.m. in Boardman. Details:

Where: Route begins on Market Street at McClurg Road and proceeds north to Southwoods Avenue. Theme: “Go Green.” Sponsors: Mahoning Valley Irish Organization, WFMJ Channel 21 and The Vindicator. Grand marshals: Coach Dan Reardon and the champion Ursuline Fighting Irish football team. Ockerman Award recipient: Pat Chrystal. Lord Mayors of Kilkenny: Dave and Doug Sweeney of Sweeney Chevrolet. Patrick Chrystal Youth Award: Lauren Kepley of Canfield. Trophies will be awarded for best entries in several categories: parade, Irish theme, float, band, pipe band, drum line, marching unit, novelty unit and color guard.
