Events

Between the Kelly Pavlik fight, events connected to the boxing card and two Mahoning Valley Phantoms hockey games, it’s going to be busy and hectic at the Chevrolet Centre. Some events are subject to change. Here’s what’s going on:

WEDNESDAY

5:30 p.m., doors open for competition to be ring card girls and to sing the national anthem. The competitions begin at 6 p.m. The public is invited to this free event.

THURSDAY

11 a.m., doors open for a press conference with Pavlik and Marco Antonio Rubio, his opponent for the WBO/WBC middleweight title. The press conference is to start at noon. The public is invited to this free event.

5:30 p.m., Phantoms host a “learn to skate” program. Doors open that time for the team’s game against the Motor City Machine that starts at 7:15 p.m.

FRIDAY

11 a.m., doors open for the fight’s official weigh-in. The event starts at noon with the weigh-in expected to occur around 1 p.m. This free event is open to the public.

6 p.m., doors open for the Phantoms’ game against Motor City and a pre-fight rally for Pavlik. Pavlik will have a ceremonial weigh-in on the ice about 6:45 p.m. The game starts at 7:15 p.m.

SATURDAY

7 p.m., doors open for the card. The first fight is to start at 7:30 p.m. The Pavlik-Rubio fight is expected to start between 10:45 and 11:15 p.m.
