Five-vehicle crash causes no serious injuries


AUSTINTOWN — Icy conditions caused a five-vehicle crash on state Route 11 just south of Interstate 80 around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield post. No serious injuries were reported. A car driven by Francis Renaldy, 66, of Austintown spun out as it traveled north and caused the next four vehicles to crash, the patrol said. The other drivers are Melinda Yerkey, 51, of Canton; Garrit Wamelink, 48, of Gates Mills; Cheryl Figueroa, 47, of Youngstown; and Daniel Skiba, 16, of Mineral Ridge. The patrol said there were 18 crashes Sunday evening, mostly on state Route 11. No citations have been issued yet.
