HOW TO HELP

Family members who inherited DNA from the mother of the individual who is MIA (missing in action), such as her brothers, sisters, sister’s children and others, may donate mitochondrial DNA, commonly referred to as mtDNA, to be compared to DNA of remains found. However, children of a missing male cannot provide the needed mtDNA sample.

If you think you may be a suitable donor, contact the branch of the service of your missing relative.
