Black college nears goal to get Cosby concert

DAYTON — Officials at Central State University say they are close to reaching comedian Bill Cosby’s fundraising target for performing a benefit concert — so close that a date has been scheduled.

Central State is one of Ohio’s historically black universities, and Cosby has been one of its supporters.

The comedian said he would perform a benefit concert if the university raised $2 million on its own. Officials said Thursday they have reached $1.8 million, and that Cosby will perform April 18 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

He’s the second son for Costner and Baumgartner. Their other child, Cayden, is 21 months old.
