Power is being restored to people in five counties

Some electric customers are still without power today, following a fierce windstorm that roared through the Mahoning and Shenango valleys late Wednesday night and into Thursday. The Youngstown/Mahoning County area still had 600 customers without power this morning, 700 in the East Palestine-Columbiana area; 100 in Trumbull County; 100 in Mercer and 500 in Lawrence counties, Pa., said Paul Harkey, First Energy spokesman. He said crews are everywhere and power should be restored by Saturday — Sunday at the latest.
