A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Feb. 8

Domestic violence: A 40-year-old Forsythe Avenue woman was arrested at her home and charged after a situation. Police said they found a man with a bloody nose who alleged the woman had struck him in the face with a metal lamp.

Robbery: A Girard woman told police that after she made a bank deposit on West Liberty Street, a man in a black shirt, dark pants and short, dark hair pulled open her vehicle’s door, demanded money and grabbed her purse before fleeing. The victim said she didn’t see a weapon.

Feb. 9

Theft: A South Davis Street woman reported her 12-year-old son’s 20-inch bicycle and a Nintendo game stolen from their residence.

Vandalism: A South State Street doctor found an interior door had been shattered.

LIBERTY

Feb. 5

Criminal damaging: A toilet had been removed from its drain at a piece of rental property in the 300 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.

Breaking and entering: A woman in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road saw that someone had entered via a window, though nothing was missing.

Drugs: After being pulled over near Logan Gate Road, a Vienna man, 24, was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia when, police said, two hypodermic needles and related parts were found.

Assault: A Youngstown woman reported another woman in her 30s struck the accuser in the head at a Belmont Avenue business. The woman also said she suffered a bite to her index finger.

Theft: A Colonial Drive woman reported a $200, .38-caliber handgun missing.

Identity theft: An elderly Church Hill Road woman reported being charged $800 worth of overdraft fees, apparently after someone tried to remove from her account an amount of money that exceeded its balance.

Feb. 6

Stolen property: A $100 necklace was found after a Logan Gate Road woman accused her former boyfriend of taking it.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 45, was accused of stealing soda, shrimp, beer and other items from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.

Theft: A man stole a $150 cell phone from a worker at a Belmont Avenue eatery.

Theft: Someone stole a $200 portable DVD player from Radio Shack, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Forgery: A worker for Goodwill Industries Inc., 2747 Belmont Ave., reported checking a company account online and finding an altered and fraudulent check that had been cashed for $620.25

Bad checks: An employee with One Stop Mart, 4495 Logan Way, told police a 53-year-old Youngstown woman used six checks, on several occasions, totaling $650, all of which had been rejected.

Feb. 7

Criminal damaging: A man reported $200 worth of lawn damage at his residence in the 1200 block of Stonington Drive.

Arrest: Officers responded to a disturbance at a Belmont Avenue business and took custody of a 25-year-old Youngstown man on a disorderly-conduct charge. The man yelled at and pushed another person and ignored authorities’ advice to desist, a report said.

Bad check: Austintown police handed a Youngstown man, 52, to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with passing a bad check.

Domestic violence/drugs: A 28-year-old man was taken into custody at his Scott Lane residence on charges of domestic violence and drug abuse after a woman alleged the man grabbed her by the face and pushed her, then struck her near her right eye. A small bag of suspected marijuana was in his pocket, officers said.

Feb. 8

Drugs: A 46-year-old Youngstown man police stopped on state Route 193 was charged with drug abuse after being accused of having a prescription bottle without the proper label that contained 13 pills.

Theft: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman discovered a $2,000 laptop computer missing from her home.

Feb. 9

Drugs: A Warren man, 25, was charged with possession of heroin and drug-abuse instruments, as well as resisting arrest, in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue. Two bags of suspected heroin, a spoon with heroin residue and two hypodermic needles were found, and police had to use a Taser on the uncooperative man, a report showed.

Theft: A 22-year-old township woman was charged in the theft of $166 worth of merchandise from Big Lots, 3491 Belmont Ave.

Drugs: A Youngstown man, 18, faced charges of trafficking in marijuana when his vehicle was searched during a traffic stop near Green Acres Drive. A paper bag containing several smaller bags of suspected marijuana was found, police said.

Feb. 10

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 4000 block of Belmont Avenue resulted in a 39-year-old Youngstown man’s arrest. He was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a criminal-trespassing charge.

HUBBARD

Feb. 6

Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage the finish on a man’s truck at a state Route 304 restaurant.

Possible theft: An employee of Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St., told police two women may have stolen meat products.

Bad check: Received at Pit Stop Auto Care Center, 350 N. Main St.

Feb. 7

Menacing: A Youngstown-Hubbard Road woman reported getting various threats.

Criminal mischief: An egg was tossed at a West Park Avenue residence.

Feb. 9

Theft: A worker for Devine’s Shop ’n’ Save reported the theft of a floor dryer.

Fraud: A South Main Street man found online that an unauthorized purchase had been made with his debit card.

Theft: A Youngstown man told Hubbard police someone had accessed his account. The man receives a $221 direct-deposit amount each month and found a $42 discrepancy, a report said.

Drugs: Officers received a report of possible drug activity in the township and conferred with the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force.
