Dog rescued from East Myrtle home

YOUNGSTOWN — A pit bull left alone in a house on East Myrtle Avenue was rescued by deputy dog wardens and taken to Animal Charity on South Avenue, police said. The fire department was called to the house to gain entry on Thursday, after receiving permission from the city prosecutor. The resident suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized for almost two weeks, a deputy dog warden said.
