ASSOCIATIONS

• American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the gathering room of Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., for a continental breakfast and business session. ATHLETIC GROUPS

• The McDonald Sideliners meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room of the post office building.

CLUBS

• McDonald Arts and Crafts Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• The Positive People Group will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Rosetta Stone Caf in Youngstown. The 6 p.m. dinner (cost $5) will be followed by a program on wellness and cancer awareness and small group discussions.

• Warren Women’s Connection will sponsor a “Great Expectations” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 9 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. Karen Gilbert, of Pat Catan’s, will demonstrate how to make a centerpiece, and Diana Grounds will speak on “What I Learned From My Children!” Vocal selections will be by Dona Hewitt. The cost is $12. • Youngstown Torch Club welcomes Lisa Rohrbaugh to the podium to discuss “Tom Patterson and the Birth of the Stratford Festival” at the meeting Monday in Bresnahan I and II in Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University. • Youngstown Road Runners Club will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday at Birch Hill Cabin in Mill Creek Park for a program on the 5K Prediction Run and a covered-dish buffet. Trustees will preside. The public is welcome and asked to take a covered dish to share.

FRATERNAL GROUPS

• The Croatian Fraternal Lodge No. 598 meets at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room of the post office building.

GUILDS

• Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. The program is to make a muffin in a clay pot. Hostesses are Virginia Bartos, Marion Summers, Jeanne Allen and Kathy Mecak. New officers for 2009 are Peggy Mills, president; Sue Kasmer, first vice president; Diane Playforth, second vice president; Judy Moore and Jo Bradfield, third vice presidents; Connie Altomare, recording secretary; Karen Sprague, corresponding secretary, and Bartos, treasurer.

POLITICAL CLUBS

• Trumbull County Republican Party will have its monthly breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Mocha House, 467 High St., Warren.

SINGLES

• D.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed or separated people, has planned the following events: Monday, walking at Southern Park Mall from the food court at 6 p.m.; Tuesday, dance lessons with Judy Conti at Wedgewood Plaza at 7 p.m., cost $5; Wednesday, walking at Southern Park Mall from food court at 6 p.m.; Thursday, meeting at Disciples Christian Church at 7:30; Friday, meet at Perkins in Boardman for dinner at 6 p.m., and afterward go to Youngstown State University Planetarium. • Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will have a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church Ministry Building, 7325 Westview Drive, (corner of Route 224 and Westview) Boardman. It is handicapped accessible. Toni Sheehan and Loretta DeSantis, from the Mercer County, Pa., Genealogical Society, will speak about genealogical research in their county.
