POLAND

Feb. 7

Domestic violence: A man, 31, was taken into custody at his Highland Avenue home and charged after authorities responded to a disturbance, though the family member was not hurt.

Feb. 8

Domestic violence: A 46-year-old Berlin Center man was charged with domestic violence and violating a protection order after police responded to a situation and arrested the man at his wife’s Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road residence. She was not injured, however.

BOARDMAN

Feb. 5

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 46, was charged with violation of a protection order after police said they found him hiding in a closet at his mother’s Shields Road apartment.

Domestic violence: A 39-year-old township man faced a felony count after an Edenridge Drive woman alleged the intoxicated man became enraged about their daughter’s report card. He pinned the accuser by her neck and poked her in the face, causing an injury, she told police.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 39-year-old Youngstown man in the 7000 block of Southern Boulevard. He was wanted on warrants from the city charging him with assault and aggravated menacing.

Theft: A Youngstown woman found out someone had made an online withdrawal of $40 from her checking account at a Boardman bank.

Theft: An employee with Cumulus Media, 4040 Simon Road, reported the theft of a $1,200 PowerPoint projector as well as a computer card.

Theft: A Glendale Avenue man reported 11 checks missing from his residence.

Feb. 6

Drugs: Police arrested a 27-year-old Cleveland man during a traffic stop on Forest Park Drive and charged him with possession of heroin and drug-abuse instruments. Hypodermic syringes and a substance that tested positive for heroin were found during a search, police said.

Possible fraud: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman reported receiving six magazine subscriptions, none of which she ordered.

Criminal damaging: Someone used a key to scratch the finish on a Boardman man’s vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A Youngstown girl, 17, was charged in the theft of 17 clothing items from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A $125 shopping cart was taken from Cochran’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.

Theft: A Poland woman’s purse and checks were stolen from her vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Someone stole cosmetics from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Robbery: A Boardman teenager told police two men in black jeans and hoodies grabbed his throat and robbed him in the Southern Park Mall parking lot before fleeing in a beige vehicle with $77 and the teen boy’s debit card.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Brookwood Road man reported a woman took his 1991 Oldsmobile Calais and $100 without permission.

Drug paraphernalia: A Struthers boy, 17, was cited after having been pulled over for running a red light near Market Street. A bag of suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe were found, a report showed.

Theft: A 47-year-old township woman was charged, accused of stealing several items from Walgreen’s Pharmacy.

Drugs: A Ranier Trail woman called police after finding her unresponsive boyfriend lying on a bedroom floor from an apparent overdose.

Theft: Niles police handed a 26-year-old Niles man to Boardman authorities. He was wanted on a theft charge after having been accused of stealing 36 Sony PlayStation 3 games and DVDs from Movie Gallery, 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Feb. 7

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was removed from a register at Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Assault: An employee with a South Avenue fast-food restaurant told authorities a customer threw a box of food while in the drive-through, striking the worker in the face and causing a red mark under her eye.

Attempted burglary: Someone kicked the rear garage door to a home in the 700 block of Glenbrook Road, though no entry had been made.

Theft: Three women stole several articles of clothing from Macy’s, costing the store $197.

Attempted burglary: A man noticed someone had tried to break into his parents’ Forest Park Drive home by kicking in a garage door leading to the residence.

Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 20, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Market Street. She was charged with obstructing official business when, authorities said, she provided a false name.

Feb. 8

Menacing: A worker for Rainbow Clothing, 1208 Doral Drive, reported an irate female customer threatened harm to the employee.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Hubbard woman at a Boardman-Poland Road business saw that her vehicle’s passenger-side window had been broken. Stolen was a $200 global positioning system device.

Felonious assault: A Glenwood Avenue woman told authorities her boyfriend deliberately cut his arm with a steak knife during an argument, then placed the knife several inches from her throat and threatened her. The accuser was not injured, though.

Theft: A Poland man reported a suitcase and other personal belongings stolen from his car in the 8100 block of Market Street.

Criminal damaging: An Auburn Hills Drive man found damage to his car’s taillight.

Theft/drugs: A Boardman woman, 29, faced charges of theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments after $24 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart. Two syringes were found in her purse, a report said.

Theft: More than $200 in clothing and sunglasses were stolen from Macy’s, resulting in a 24-year-old Youngstown woman’s being charged with the crime.

Theft/drugs: A 17-year-old New Springfield girl and a Girard man, 19, were accused in the theft of knee and ankle braces from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road. They also faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after officers said suspected marijuana pipes were found; an additional drug-abuse charge was filed against the woman when, police said, suspected marijuana seeds were found in her purse.
