Patterson leads East Palestine win


EAST PALESTINE — Trevor Patterson scored 17 points to lead the East Palestine High boys basketball team to a 58-36 victory over Crestview.

The Bulldogs’ (15-2, 11-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One) defense was the difference as they held the Rebels (8-11, 5-8) to eight points in the first quarter, eight in the second and six in third in building a 48-22 lead.

Brandenn Keylor and Ben Guysin each scored 11 for East Palestine.

Braxton Mascher and Gysin pulled down eight rebounds apiece.

Carter Hill led Crestview with 10 points.

Columbiana 79, Lisbon 43

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana put 11 players in the scoring column while routing Lisbon.

The Clippers (12-4, 10-2 ITCL1) jumped out to a 24-7 first quarter lead and were never threatened.

Kevin Blinsky led the way with 20 points while Josh Harold added 15.

Zack Bell and Matt Metzgar each scored seven points for Lisbon (2-15, 1-12).

South Range 58, Mineral Ridge 46

NORTH LIMA — Joe Mihlan tossed in 20 points to lead South Range.

Joe Mihlan led the way for the Raiders (5-12, 4-9 ITCL1) with 20 points while Kyle Seaver added 15.

Mineral Ridge (3-14, 2-11) was led by Cody Graham and Justin Lasner with 11 points each.

Southern 63, Leetonia 61, OT

SALINEVILLE — Mike McVey’s only points of the game gave Southern the win.

McVey’s goal came from near the right side of the hoop with three seconds left in overtime on a pass from Andrew Diaz.

Diaz, who led Southen with a game-high 26 points, pulled the Indians into a 61-61 tie with about 30 seconds left.

Ethan Blatch and Trey Griffith each added 10 points for Southern (8-9, 5-7 ITCL2).

Eric Baker contributed eight rebounds and six assists. Diaz also had five assists.

Josh Selway had 21 points to lead Leetonia (8-9, 6-6) while Jake McNally added 16 and Cody Stokes 10.
