Cent. Michigan 57, Miami (Ohio) 55

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Jordan Bitzer sank a jump shot with 32 seconds left to put Central Michigan ahead for good in a 57-55 win over Miami of Ohio. After Bitzer’s shot gave the Chippewas a 56-55 lead, Miami’s Adam Fletcher missed a jumper with seven seconds left, and Central Michigan’s Robbie Harman grabbed the rebound. Fouled with two seconds remaining, Marcus Van sank one of two free throws to seal the win for the Chippewas (7-15, 4-6 Mid-American). Van had 18 points and seven rebounds. Bitzer added 13 points and was 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Miami’s Michael Bramos scored 24 points on 9-for-13 field-goal shooting — including 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Tyler Dierkers added 10 points for the RedHawks (14-8, 7-3).

Wright State 64, Loyola of Chicago 52

CHICAGO — Cory Cooperwood tied a career high with 19 points and Todd Brown added 18 to lead Wright State. Wright State (15-10, 9-5) capitalized on Loyola’s poor shooting in the first half to build a 19-10 lead with six minutes left. Loyola (12-14, 4-10) came back and tied the game at 29 at halftime after J.R. Blount scored the final four points in the last minute. Wright State built its lead to as many as 18 at 64-46 in the closing minutes. Loyola shot poorly for the whole game, making only 17-of-53 attempts for 32.1 percent. Wright State had trouble getting on track, hitting only 11-of-31 shots in the first half but sank 15-of-25 in the second half to finish at 46.4 percent on 26-of-56 shooting.
