Early lead helps Columbiana stop Lisbon
COLUMBIANA — Kayle Couchenour scored 11 points with five assists and Ashley Shea added 13 points to lead the Columbiana High girls basketball team to a 49-45 victory over Lisbon on Monday in an Inter Tri-County League Tier One game.
Hayley Goist added eight points and five steals for the Clippers (9-9, 5-7), who took an 18-9 first quarter lead.
Abbey Brammer had 16 points and six steals, Megan Reynolds had 14 points and Mindy Jackson 10 points and eight rebounds for Lisbon (11-6, 7-6).
Crestview 52, East Palestine 28
EAST PALESTINE — Chelsea Bowker had 28 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead Crestview (16-2, 11-1 ITCL Tier One), which outscored the Bulldogs 28-11 in the second half to pull away. Shanelle Davner added 11 points.
Bre Hull had 14 points and Kali George nine rebounds for EP (3-14, 1-11).
South Range 66, Mineral Ridge 34
NORTH LIMA — Ellen Stoffer scored 15 points to lead the Raiders in a Tier One game. Tabitha Stanton and Gab Naples added 13 points each for the Raiders (12-7, 7-6), who outscored Mineral Ridge 20-7 in the second quarter for a 37-17 lead at intermission. Haley Garris scored eight points to lead the Rams (2-15, 1-12).
Wellsville 58, Jackson-Milton 41
WELLSVILLE — Wellsville connected on 20 of 32 free throws and got 21 points from Mikqala Tipton in a victory over Jackson-Milton.
The Tigers (6-11, 5-7 ITCL Tier Two) also had 15 points from Lindsay Koontz and 12 from P.J. Williams.
Jackson-Milton (0-13, 0-18) was led by Alyssa Chine with 21 points.
Leetonia 46, Southern 34
SALINEVILLE — Gina Jones scored 12 points and Lauren Ketterman added 11 for the Bears in a Tier Two contest. Leetonia (9-9, 7-5) jumped out to a 12-2 lead after one quarter and held a 28-11 edge at intermission. Maddy Dowling scored 11 points to lead Southern (2-14, 2-9).
