Fire damages Belmont Avenue property
YOUNGSTOWN — The occupant of 632 1/2 Belmont Ave. told firefighters he was awakened by the sound of glass breaking and then saw flames outside the second floor bedroom. No injuries were reported from the fire at 4 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters said the roof caved in and the ladder truck had to be used to knock down the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage was set at $30,000 to the property and contents.
