Blue Jackets 3, Sharks 2, OT

COLUMBUS — Christian Backman scored at 1:33 of overtime, and Dan LaCosta made 28 saves in his first NHL start for Columbus. Jason Williams and Rick Nash also scored to help Columbus end a three-game losing streak. Christian Ehrhoff and Devin Setoguchi scored for San Jose. The Western Conference-leading Sharks have lost a season-high three straight games.

Flyers 4, Bruins 3

BOSTON — Randy Jones’ shot caromed into the net off Boston defenseman Andrew Ference with 2 minutes left in overtime, giving Philadelphia a victory over NHL-leading Boston. Former Bruin Glen Metropolit, Scott Hartnell and Simon Gagne also scored for Philadelphia, down 3-1 after the first period.

Red Wings 8, Oilers 3

DETROIT — Brian Rafalski, Maria Hossa and Pavel Datsyuk each had a goal and an assist, and Stanley Cup champion Detroit scored three times in the first 6 minutes. Brett Lebda, Dan Cleary, Nicklas Lidstrom, Mikael Samuelsson and Ville Leino also scored, Niklas Kronwall had three assists, and Ty Conklin made 23 saves. Zack Stortini and Marc Pouliot scored for Edmonton.

Capitals 3, Panthers 1

WASHINGTON — Defenseman Mike Green broke a tie on a power play 43 seconds into the third period, then added an empty-netter for Washington, giving him goals in six consecutive games — the longest goal streak by a defenseman in team history. Eric Fehr also scored, and Jose Theodore made 21 saves for the Capitals, allowing only Keith Ballard’s first-period goal.

Ducks 2, Flames 1

CALGARY, Alberta — Corey Perry scored the winner for Anaheim off turnover, and Jean-Sebastian Giguere made 26 saves for his first victory since Jan. 11. Perry intercepted Adam Pardy’s errant pass, broke in alone and snapped a shot that trickled past Curtis McElhinney with 28 seconds left in the second period.

Kings 3, Devils 1

NEWARK, N.J. — Patrick O’Sullivan scored on a penalty shot and added an assist, and Jonathan Quick made 25 saves for Los Angeles. Jarret Stoll and Anze Kopitar also scored to help the Kings win for the sixth time in their last seven games. Los Angeles improved to 3-1 on its five-game trip.

Senators 3, Sabres 2, SO

OTTAWA — Mike Fisher scored the winning goal in the third round of a shootout for Ottawa, and Nick Foligno and Antoine Vermette scored in regulation to help give coach Cory Clouston his first victory in three games with the team.

Maple Leafs 5, Canadiens 2

MONTREAL — Jason Blake scored twice in the third period, Luke Schenn added his first NHL goal, and Vesa Toskala made 31 saves for Toronto. The Canadiens have lost seven of their last nine games.

Blues 4, Avalanche 1

ST. LOUIS — Brad Boyes had a goal and an assist in a 31-second span of the second period, and Chris Mason made 23 saves for St. Louis.

Lightning 1, Islanders 0

TAMPA, Fla. — Mike McKenna made 28 saves for his first NHL shutout, and Gary Roberts scored in the third period for Tampa Bay.
