Game notes: The Penguins got big win Thursday against Loyola, 60-49, in Chicago. The Penguins trailed by six at halftime, but used a 17-2 second half spurt to put the Ramblers away. It was their first road victory in their last 25 February games, dating back to the 2001 season. UIC comes into the contest on a four game losing streak after dropping a 66-63 contest to Cleveland State at home on Thursday. The Flames have lost two straight close games, falling to Milwaukee on a last-second shot Saturday, 63-62. Series: The Penguins trail 18-3 but beat the Flames in their first meeting this year in Youngstown, 80-70. All three of the Penguins’ wins have been at Beeghly Center. Up next: The Penguins will return home next week to play Green Bay on Feb. 12 and Milwaukee on Feb. 14. Both games are at 7:05 p.m.

Game notes: The Penguins are coming off a disappointing performance against league-leading Green Bay. After playing the Phoenix tough for the first 10 minutes the Penguins fell apart and suffered a 70-42 defeat in Green Bay. YSU made 32 turnovers in the game, but Green Bay shot 71 percent from the field in the first half. The Phoenix scored 44 points off YSU turnovers and 42 points in the paint. Milwaukee dropped a 53-45 decision to Cleveland State on Thursday. The Panthers have the league’s top scorer and rebounder in Traci Edwards.SFlbSeries: The Penguins trail 16-5 and have lost six straight, including a 72-60 setback on Jan. 8 at YSU. The Penguins’ last win in the series was at Milwaukee in 2005, 75-68. Up next: The Penguins play at Cleveland State on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. They return home on Feb. 19 to play Detroit in a 7:05 contest.
