Pasta cook-off event is good for the heart
WARREN — On Feb. 22, Blessed Sacrament Church, 300 Reeves Road, and Youngstown Metro American Heart Association will team up for their 7th annual Pasta Cook-Off to raise funds for the American Heart Association’s 2009 Heart Walk.
The cook-off competition will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church and will feature dishes prepared by local restaurants and catering companies including Alberini’s, Aulizio’s Catering, Buena Vista Caf , O’Donold’s, Raptis, Salvatore’s, Saratoga, Springfield Grille, Station Square, Sunrise, Up-A-Creek, and Vernon’s.
There will be a separate competition for amateur wine-makers from the area.
Celebrity judges will be Stan Boney of Channel 33, Jim Loboy, Bob Coupland of the Tribune Chronicle, Warren Municipal Court Judges Thomas Gysegem and Terry Ivanchak, Susan DeLeo, Angee Shaker, Warren Mayor Michael O’Brien, Start! Heart Walk Director Allison Mohr, Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe, and Howland Township Administrator Darlene St. George.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 11 year of age, and a maximum of $30 for a family. Tickets at the door will be $15 for adults and a maximum cost of $35 for a family. For more information call (330) 372-2215.
